Garang Mayom Malek is the Chief Executive Officer of CapitalPay International and builds the transaction infrastructure behind institutions and trade. His work centres on a simple conviction: a payment becomes useful when it can be matched to the right person, invoice, permit, shipment and final settlement record. At CapitalPay Kenya, he applies that idea across regulated collections, freight administration and regional trade systems.

His current work includes partnerships spanning Kenya’s clearing and forwarding sector, the Mombasa–Juba trade corridor and global cloud infrastructure. He is also a director of two active United Kingdom software companies. His public leadership includes the MNL Africa Leadership Circle, where he joined a panel on trade enablement, logistics and digital transformation. Through CapitalPay’s Ramadan community relief initiative, he has also tied business leadership to visible community action.

Garang Mayom Malek is the Chief Executive Officer of CapitalPay International and builds payment infrastructure for institutions, trade corridors and regulated markets. His work is shaped by a clear operating thesis: moving money is only one part of a transaction. The system around it must also establish who paid, what the payment covered, which rule applied, where the funds settled and what action comes next.

At CapitalPay, Garang brings that thesis into sectors where many organisations must act on the same transaction. The company’s work spans payment collection, compliance, reconciliation and settlement for institutions operating across trade, logistics, agriculture and public-service environments.

In Kenya, his current focus includes a programme with the Kenya International Freight and Warehousing Association and a partnership with Viaservice serving the Mombasa–Juba trade corridor. The first connects professional records, compliance and payments for clearing agents. The second links cargo visibility and trade finance with the financial record around a shipment. A wider technology collaboration with GoPomelo, Tencent Cloud and Techtanium extends that work into enterprise cloud and AI infrastructure.

Garang brings this operating experience into wider leadership conversations. At the 2026 MNL Africa Leadership Circle in Nairobi, he joined leaders from business, policy and infrastructure for a discussion on trade enablement through logistics and supply-chain management, with a focus on border systems and digital transformation. His view of leadership also includes responsibility to the communities around the business. During Ramadan 2026, Garang used his official platform to announce CapitalPay’s donation of food packages to people in need through its community relief initiative, describing generosity and mutual support as part of the season’s meaning.

Garang’s experience also includes digital tax, customs and public-service systems in South Sudan. That work informed his conviction that successful infrastructure must be legible to the institutions operating it and resilient across organisational boundaries.
